Setastine acts as a highly selective H₁ receptor antagonist. It has no anticholinergic, antiadrenergic, or antiserotonergic effects.

Pharmacokinetics

Setastine penetrates the blood-brain-barrier poorly so it is only mildly sedating compared to related molecules like diphenhydramine.
